Devlog 7: back to work

In terms of art you won't see much difference this week. That's because we are starting to wrap up our game and focussed a lot on the sounds this week.

Programming:
Programming wise we added a menu system to the game. Allowing us to link the controller inputs to our menu.

An annoying bug was fixed that left our players partially visible when moving.

We are trying to finish up the mechanics of the game, so the bottle throwing now effects players as well.
The tagger can throw a milk bottle that is laying around in the level. This will leave a pool of milk behind and also splash all nearby players with milk. Making them temporarely visible.

Modeling:
We finished all the models that we wanted to have in our game. We made some lamps and toys.

Sound:
Like we mentioned above we focused a lot on sound effects this week,  it took some time to find some sounds that fit with our style. We linked some of the audio already to the animation. Next week you will hear it all come to live!

Footprint sound effect:

Teleport sound effect:

Door sound effect:

Animation:
We worked on the pillow attack animation of the tagger. This took a while because we didn't really know how to do it. We wanted to work with physics first but after some trying it didn't work out. This is the result:

Visual effects:
Still needed to finish some of the particles.  Some help the little one, I think he just lost the game..

UI:
Last devlog we mentioned we wanted to address the readability of the UI of the startscreen, that is why we changed our main menu from a day scene to a night scene. Also sounds are added to the buttons. Result shown in the video below.

Next week will be the last update about the production of our game. After that we'll start polishing!
