Devlog 9: First week of polishing

As the launch date starts to creep closer our game is ready for polishing!

Programming
This week mostly constisted of a bunch of bugfixes. Particles showing up when not necessary, menu's not working and teleports not correctly teleporting the players.

UI
For the UI polishing we wanted to make the menu's feel more as one with the game. We gave them a little face lift with some nice pictures and animations. All the UIs are scalable as well, they adjust to different aspect ratio's. On the background of the main menu you'll also see that the babies found some hiding spots.

It was hard to see when the game started or when the next round began, so we added a countdown to make that clear.

The loading screen got a major update, we now have two loading screens available: one with the controls and one with this cute baby crawling away at life.

The option menu and game mode menu are also looking prettier right now.

We also wanted to give a bit more player feedback to the game. If a milk bottle is stepped on a splash of milk will appear on the screen.

The pause menu also got some sparkly animations.

Nightcycle
In the polish sprint we planned to make a day and night cycle. It should be daylight when the round starts and evening when the tagger runs out of time. We finally got the time to make this! It will get darker and darker outside, the kids really need to sleep now.
We still need to adjust the lights inside the room, this will be for next week.
